Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Richbury.com uses cookies and comparable storage and access technologies, the purposes for which they are used, and the choices available to you.

01. Scope

Richbury.com is a trading name of Zagran Ltd. This Cookie Policy applies to the Richbury.com website, account areas, marketplace services and associated online functions through which information may be stored on, or accessed from, your browser or device.

References to cookies in this policy include comparable technologies, such as browser storage, where they perform a similar function.

Controller. Zagran Ltd is responsible for the operation of Richbury.com and for the use of first-party cookies and similar technologies described in this policy.

02. Legal framework

The use of cookies and similar technologies is governed principally by Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (“PECR”), as amended. Where the use of a cookie or similar technology involves personal data, the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 also apply.

PECR requires clear and comprehensive information about the purpose of storage or access. Consent is required unless a statutory exception applies. Where consent is required, it must be freely given, specific and informed, and must be expressed by a clear affirmative action.

Certain narrowly defined uses may qualify for an exception, including technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user, and, subject to the statutory conditions, limited statistical or appearance and functionality purposes. Where those latter exceptions are relied upon, Richbury will provide clear information and a simple, free means of objection.

03. How cookies are used

Richbury uses storage and access technologies only where there is a defined operational purpose. Depending on the part of the service being used, these purposes may include:

  • protecting account access and maintaining a secure authenticated session;
  • preserving essential marketplace and transaction state between page requests;
  • remembering basket contents during a purchasing journey;
  • recording cookie choices so that they are respected on subsequent visits;
  • remembering an interface preference where that feature is enabled;
  • measuring service use for the limited purpose of improving the platform, where legally permitted; and
  • supporting a payment journey when you choose to make a payment.

Richbury does not treat advertising, behavioural profiling or cross-site tracking as necessary to provide the service. If such technologies are introduced in the future, they will not be activated before the required consent has been obtained, and this policy and the relevant Cookie Settings information will be updated.

04. Strictly necessary technologies

Some technologies are essential to provide a function that you have expressly requested. These may include authentication, account security, transaction continuity, basket state and fraud-prevention or security controls that are necessary for the requested service.

Consent is not required where the strictly necessary exception applies. The exception is interpreted narrowly: a technology will not be treated as strictly necessary merely because it is useful to Richbury, commercially convenient or helpful for general analysis.

Effect of blocking essential cookies. If your browser prevents strictly necessary cookies from operating, certain functions may not work correctly, including sign-in, secure account access, basket continuity and checkout.

05. Preferences & service improvement

Richbury may use limited technologies to remember a preference that you have selected, or to obtain statistical information solely for the purpose of improving the service. Where Richbury relies on a statutory exception for such use, the relevant conditions will be observed and a simple, free means of objecting will be provided.

If a preference, analytics or similar technology falls outside the applicable exception, it will remain inactive until valid consent has been obtained.

Richbury will not combine an exempt statistical or appearance-purpose technology with an additional purpose, such as advertising, profiling or unrelated personalisation, and then continue to rely on the exception.

06. Payment services

Richbury uses Viva.com as a payment service provider for supported online payment functions. When you proceed to a payment environment operated by Viva.com, that provider may store or access information on your device for payment functionality, security, fraud prevention, customer preferences and, where you choose them, optional features.

Cookies and similar technologies used directly within a Viva.com-hosted payment environment are controlled by Viva.com and are subject to its own cookie information and controls. Optional cookies used by Viva.com are governed by the choices presented within that environment.

07. Cookie register

The register below describes the categories of storage and access technologies used or intended for the current Richbury service. Technical identifiers may contain site-specific or session-specific values; the relevant purpose, provider and retention period are set out below.

Richbury will review this register when a material service, integration or tracking technology is introduced or changed. The live service must not use an undisclosed non-exempt technology.

08. Consent & your choices

Where consent is required, non-exempt technologies will remain disabled until you have made a positive choice. Consent will not be inferred merely because you continue to browse the site.

The consent mechanism will provide a clear means of accepting or refusing non-exempt technologies, with refusal made as easy as acceptance. Where more than one optional purpose is used, choices will be presented by purpose rather than as a single indistinct permission.

You may withdraw or amend consent at any time through the Cookie Settings control provided on the site. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before consent was withdrawn, but the relevant non-exempt technologies will cease to be used for future storage or access.

Where Richbury relies on the statistical-purpose or appearance/functionality exception instead of consent, the site will provide the simple, free means of objection required by PECR. An objection will be respected for future storage or access carried out for that purpose.

09. Browser controls

Most browsers allow you to inspect, delete or block cookies and other site data. Browser controls are separate from Richbury's Cookie Settings and may affect strictly necessary technologies as well as optional ones.

If you block all cookies or clear site data, you may be signed out and may lose basket contents, saved preferences or other session information.

10. Changes & contact

This policy may be updated where the Richbury service, its payment arrangements, its use of storage and access technologies, or the applicable legal requirements change. The date shown at the top of the page identifies the current version.

Questions concerning Richbury's use of cookies or similar technologies may be submitted through the Contact page. Information about the processing of personal data more generally is available in the Privacy Policy.
